The festival of manga culture, Paris Manga, returns on April 1stand 2nd in Paris, we offer you an overview of the show with our advice.

A start in Japanese culture

Paris manga was born in 2006 and has continued to grow ever since. It is, first of all, a doubling of the show which went from one edition per year to two. It is also a thematic enlargement. There is always cosplay, martial arts, mahjong and go presentations… However, the convention is now interested in manga, TV series and American comics. Paris Manga is also experiencing an extension of surface. The organization successively passed through the Espace Champerret, the park of the Porte de Versailles in Paris before arriving today in the very large Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord Villepinte.

Charmed in Paris Manga

A multiple cultural fair

All these extensions make it possible to bring more guests with possible meetings and signings. The editorial staff cannot miss the Charmed series, which has marked many editors. She will be honored with no less than five actors. The lucky ones will have the opportunity to meet the witches Chris Halliwell – Holly Marie Combs, Rose McGowan and Shannen Doherty – accompanied by the characters of Leo and Chris. These stars are just the headliners among many other actors and actresses from the universe of Stranger Things, Game of Thrones and Kaamelott.

Comics and manga are also at the head of the festival with a dozen guests including Philippe Ogaki, the author of Mythics, the creator of The Scarlet Rose and the artists of the Piou series. As a big reader, we advise you not to miss the comic book guests with James O'Barr (creator of The Crow), Artgerm, Patricia Martín, Raúl Allén and Laura Braga. There are also several singers inspired by K-pop or having interpreted anime credits. Finally, fans of Youtubers will be able to see among others Léo Techmaker, Karal and Noob. These meetings are just one of the many activities of the festival. You can easily spend the day with the very regular quizzes on series or manga, a giant karaoke. Throughout the day, you will be able to prove your talent as a choreographer on the Just Dance stage and certainly do much better than the author of this text… Cosplay will also be present among visitors but also during an official competition. These are just a few activities in a large room hosting multiple exhibitors.

This third edition proves, through the richness of its programming and the diversity of exhibitors, that Paris Manga is an essential moment in the agenda of the follower of Japanese culture but also of the fan of series and comics. Find on the festival website all the practical information.
