Sylvester Stallone wants to adapt the American bestseller "Tough As They Come", memoirs of former sergeant Travis Mills, who had all four limbs amputated because of serious injuries endured on the battlefield.

Adam Driver, whose career exploded last year thanks to Star Wars, will play this character alongside Sylvester Stallone, who will play Mills' father-in-law, Craig Buck. According to Deadline, the relationship between Travis Mills and his stepfather, who accompanied and supported him as soon as he left the hospital, will be at the heart of the story. Although nothing has been signed yet, Fox is reportedly in negotiations to secure the rights to Mills and Buck's memoirs, as well as Susan Carlson, Eric Carlson and James Keach in production.

Here is the synopsis of "Tough As They Come", via Travis Mills ' official website:

Thousands of soldiers die every year defending their country. U.S. Army Sgt. Travis Mills was certain he would be one of those statistics when, during his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, he was caught by an explosion four days before his 25th birthday. Against all odds, he survived, but at what cost – Travis became one of five soldiers who went to Afghanistan and Iraq to survive a quadruple amputation.

Brutally forced to accept the fact that he no longer possessed arms or legs, Travis had to face a future drastically different from what he had imagined. He would never again be able to take the head of his section, hold his wife's hand or carry his little girl in his arms.

Travis struggled to regain the strength to live his life to the best of his ability, during long and painful days of rehabilitation. With a lot of willpower and unfailing resistance, thanks to the unconditional love of his family and a healthy dose of faith, Travis surprised everyone with his unexpected recovery. Even without his limbs, he still swims, dances with his wife, rides a bike and drives his daughter to school.

Travis, thanks to his incredible journey, has become a daily source of inspiration for thousands of people. He does not want to be considered a disabled person. "I'm just a man with scars," he says, "who lives his life to the fullest and as best he can."
