    The story takes place three years after the events of the miniseries 24 : Live Another Day, which served as the ninth season of 24 hoursAfter taking part in a mission to eliminate terrorist leader Ibrahim Ben-Khalid in Yemen and returning to the United States, Eric Carter (Corey Hawkins – The Walking Dead), an ex-ranger living in Virginia, discovers that members of his former elite unit are being murdered one after the other in retaliation for his death. To protect his girlfriend and himself but also to avoid a large-scale attack, he decides to call on the Washington D Anti-Terrorist Cell.C. and its former director, Rebecca Ingram (Miranda Otto – The Lord of the Rings), whose husband, Senator John Donovan (Jimmy Smits – Star Wars), is campaigning for the presidential election
