No 23 Jump Street in sight, but a female spin-off is in the works as the crossover with Men in Black resurfaces.
The site Deadline reports that the female spin-off of the Jump Street saga is more advanced than expected since a director has already been appointed to head the project. This is Rodney Rothman , screenwriter of 22 Jump Street and Match Return, who will not be elsewhere always writing this spin-off.
Regarding this female spin-off, it is not yet known if it will feature brand new heroines or if the feature film will focus on the characters of police officers played by Dakota Johnson and Rye Rye in 21 Jump Street, released in theaters in 2012. The project is still quite vague just like the crossover with Men in Black that we were talking about here a few months ago.
Still according to the site Deadline, the third film of the saga, a crossover with the franchise Men in Black entitled MIB 23 and evoked since the end of 2014, is still in the pipes. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, however, had recently declared that they no longer believed in the project. As for Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, they had simply given up this meeting. Sony seeks with this crossover to revive a new saga Men in Black with fresh and brand new actors, risky bet when we know the enthusiasm of the public for this cult film. Case to follow then.
