Netflix had presented it as the event of the month of May, and the streaming platform was not mistaken: the series The Rain will have an additional season.
A season 2 in the course of the year 2019
Since May 4, 2018, the Netflix original show straight from Denmark, meets a craze of the most dazzling in the four corners of the world. Created by Esben Toft Jacobsen and Jannik Tai Mosholmt, the series follows the lives of two brothers left to fend for themselves, 6 years after the devastation of half the Scandinavian population ravaged by a deadly virus. They travel the world with the help of a booklet left by their father, trying to find shelter in a world at risk. If The Rain had a scenario with a feeling of déjà vu, the story of the two siblings has managed to convince Netflix subscribers and imposes itself in the most beautiful way on the platform to hundreds of series.
And good news! A sequel will see the light of day. Co-creator and writer of the series, Jannick Tai Mosholt said in a statement that he wants to offer a second season: "We are really very grateful for the success of the series and the extremely positive reactions it has generated. We are very happy to have the opportunity to do a second season of The Rain. We still have a lot of stories to tell about our characters, and the universe of the series deserves to be explored even deeper. We can't wait for people to see all of this."
The filming of the new season should take place in the coming months for a broadcast scheduled for 2019.
