Shameless: the series is already renewed for a season 9

Good news for all the loyal followers of the crazy series Shameless! The show has just been officially renewed for a season 9 on the cable network Showtime. 

You thought you were done with the Gallaghers? Well, think again, because they are not ready to leave you! The series has just been awarded one more season on the cable channel Showtime. Unlike other older series whose ratings continue to decline as the seasons go by, Shameless, meanwhile, is one of the few programs to escape the rule. Indeed, the audiences of the series are rather satisfactory. The season premiere of season 9 which has just been launched across the Atlantic has gathered 1.86 million viewers, the best launch since season 3. No wonder the channel is renewing it!

Could the series end at the end of season 9?

The chain and production have not yet made an open decision. However, fans should be prepared for this eventuality, as recent statements by actor William H. Macy at Entertainment Weekly go in this direction.

The interpreter of Frank Gallagher had said: "When we finished season 7, it had to be the end and I started to think about life after Shameless for me. (…) But it's not for now, I think we'll do another season or two."

For now, the series Shameless is broadcast every Sunday night on Showtime in the United States.
