Monday, May 14 marked the beginning of Elite Week. Much awaited, the successful Spanish series Elite makes this comeback this Friday. But before finding the entire Las Encinas gang and their hectic lives, here is a focus on the relationships maintained between certain characters in the form of mini-series, composed of three episodes each time. Elite's "Short Stories" is the perfect way to subtly reconnect with the lives of Cayatana, Rebeca, Guzmán, Nadia, Omar, Anders, Alexis, Samuel and Carla during the summer. An innovative new format, these special episodes were an opportunity to offer a real end to some of the series' key characters. Indeed, Nadia and Carla will not be present in season 4, and deserved that their respective love stories are worthily closed. Thus, the producers of the series have found the perfect compromise to make fans of the series wait, and allow them to reconnect with the different characters during the summer period. We find Guzmán, Cayetana and Rebeca on June 14, then again Guzmán with Nadia on June 15, Omar, Anders and Alexis on June 16 and finally Samuel and Carla on June 17.
Reunion in the middle of summer
The first short story? Guzmán, Cayetana and Rebeca meet again for a summer day and will face a very delicate situation. As Rebe invites them to his brand new home, the three teenagers will experiment with various drugs throughout the day. But an unexpected event will push them to have to show great composure and a very pronounced imagination… This first bonus episode is comical and surprising. It makes the perfect link with the next one, where one of the main couples of the series, Nadia and Guzmàn is highlighted. While Nadia moved to New York for these studies, Guzmán continued her life in Spain. The two lovebirds are still together despite the distance. But when Nadia has the opportunity to return to Madrid, she does not intend to tell Guzmàn immediately… Their relationship seems fragile, but the love remains very strong between the two of them. Their respective questions are legitimate: doesn't distance end up complicating everything? Then let's move on to Omar, Anders and Alexis. The latter is a friend of Anders. Suffering from cancer, the two young men met when Anders was ill himself. This was the case during season 3 of Elite, during which the teenager fought leukemia. They have remained friends ever since: Anders, who is in remission, is Alexis' only real support . He wants to spend the summer with Alexis and help him in his fight at all costs. The three episodes depict the difficulty of getting sick when you are young, and you see your whole life change without having wanted or deserved it. The result is touching and very realistic. Finally, the latest mini-series honors the romantic and complex story of Carla and Samuel. While the Marchioness is about to leave for London and is at the airport, Samuel does everything to make her stay. They then make an agreement allowing them to have some moments of respite together. But how long will this last? The two teenagers are still attached to each other, despite everything that differentiates them. Their two opposing universes seem to be connected by a weakening bond, which threatens to let go at any moment. Specific themes tackled with intelligence Each mini-series seems to want to tackle a well-defined subject. It's about drugs with Guzmàn, Cayetana and Rebecca, a long-distance relationship for Nadia and Guzmàn, illness with Omar, Anders and Alexis and finally passionate love with Carla and Samuel. The episodes are thus cleverly built around these subjects. The accuracy of the dialogues, always well conducted, gives the impression of a strong proximity with the characters. These bonus episodes are the perfect way to rediscover the teenagers we loved so much during the last three seasons of the series. Their different realizations strengthen their psychological depths, and this for our greatest happiness. What sublimates the whole is without hesitation the advanced staging, as well as an optimal colorimetry. In summary, a pleasure for the eyes but also a script that demonstrates a consistency of size. Perfect for a summer appetizer before the start of the school year for teenagers. These short stories focused on some of the key characters of the first three seasons only reinforce our desire to discover the continuation of the thrilling stories of the young people of Las Encinas High School. Newcomers will join the young people we already know. See you on Friday, June 18 for season 4 of Elite! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yg3gvEaTxug
