The setting up of the plot of Alice in Borderland after the first part of the season was interesting and effective. But what about the rest of season 1? Sloppy season or true masterpiece?
Where are we in history?
During the first four episodes, Arisu (Alice for the intimates) went through many states, even wanting to give up everything and stop fighting. Things change and the determination of Arisu (aka Kento Yamazaki) pushes him to continue the search for "The Beach" with "Usagi". The two protagonists get along well, they become real friends and seek together to understand what is happening. Will they learn more about this intriguing place? What will happen in this second half of the season? What will happen to Usagi (aka Tao Tsuchiya)? How will Alice in Borderland progress? We'll let you find out.
A darker end to the season
In episodes 5 to 8, the advance in the story makes it darker, especially with episode 7 which is particularly strong, and which could well disturb the youngest or an uninformed audience. The surprising recommendation advising against this series to under 16s is finally understandable in this second part. The arrival of the "activists", the group that reigns terror through threats and violence, marks a turning point in history. So yes, this end of the season is darker, but it's also because many characters appear, with strong characters, and dangerous decision-making. It's a real pleasure to follow Arisu's quest in Alice in Borderland, episode after episode.
The story of Alice in Borderland progresses
What was supposed to happen eventually happened. Yes, the story is moving forward! Important revelations are made and a season 2 will have to point its nose because there are still questions unanswered. The last episode, in particular, ends in a breathtaking way, the cards are completely reshuffled. We understand better the attitude of some characters, we are surprised by others, but there is a progression in the story. We are getting closer to the goal, we can't wait to see how things will evolve further. Will Arisu still be able to show insight in the face of the next trials? Will Arisu and Usagi be able to make the right decisions in the future? Is it really possible to "win" this game or, at least, survive it? Who is behind this ravaged "game"? This end of the season confirms the impressions of the beginning, this series is exciting! The characters do not leave us indifferent, they also have a lot of charisma. Their personalities are touching or annoying, and that's what makes us so much in this series. In summary, we can't wait to find Arisu in season 2 of Alice in Borderland !
