The mist is gradually dispersing for Dragon Quest XI released in July 2017 in Japan, since it has just found a date in the West for two video-game platforms!
Indeed, the new opus of the legendary saga signed by the three pundits that are Yuji Horii (creator of the franchise), Akira Toriyama (character designer), and Koichi Sugiyama (composer) will be released in Europe on September 4, 2018 for the PS4 and PC versions.
From its original name, Echoes of an Elusive Age becomes Les Combattants de la destine when it is located, will therefore be placed on our shelves for the start of the 2018/2019 school year, to the great relief of fans! This location will benefit from the following:
- English dubbing that brings the game's endearing characters to life.
- Draconian Quest: A challenging mode that offers more challenges for more experienced players.
- Menus and a new interface, with graphical improvements and more intuitive navigation.
- The camera mode , which allows players to admire the beautiful landscape, characters and ferocious monsters in detail.
- The new sprint function , as well as many other system improvements, such as, for example, better character and camera movement.
Nintendo shunned?
A date for the PS4 and PC is fine, but what about the Switch and 3DS versions? For the first it's quite simple, since the game is still in development on the Nintendo console, the game has not even been released in Japan yet, so we can dream of a worldwide release when the opus will be ready, finally it remains only a sweet personal dream.
For the 3DS, it's a different story, since Square-Enix seems to doubt the sales potential of the latter, the localization of Dragon Quest XI is simply not considered for Nintendo's handheld console. Yet when we see the console park present in Europe, we are entitled to ask questions, especially given the little release on the console at the moment, it would not have much competition …
