Shortly after the release of his second album Staying At Tamara's, George Ezra embarked on a European tour that stopped in Paris on April 13 for a concert at the Trianon!

Facing a sold-out Trianon, Naya opened for British singer George Ezra. A very young singer who tells us how moved she is to play on this stage when she had seen Jake Bugg there a few years ago. Cute, but we are far from convinced by its pieces which, at first glance, seem to all look the same… In short, we are looking forward to George Ezra !!!

A concert that puts a smile on our faces

Tonight, we are looking forward to George Ezra who had charmed us with his first album Wanted On Voyage, and recently with Staying At Tamara's that we will finally discover live tonight. Suddenly, the lights go out and to jovial music, George Ezra makes his entrance. The tone of the concert is set from the beginning with the energetic Cassy O' !

Before starting his second song, the British singer introduces us to his musicians and asks us how we are and then adds that tonight, he will play us old songs but also his new titles while laughing with us. He then tells  us that the next title is about dream and flight, it's about Get Away. If it is a title appearing on his new opus, we do not have the impression since the public already sings in chorus the lyrics as if he knew this title for a few years. After a multitude of deserved applause, George Ezra thanks his audience and then continues on the story of his new album while making everyone in the room laugh. This artist really has the ability to make us travel for each of his pieces and to create a real communication with his audience, something so rare nowadays.

The show continues with the timeless Barcelona, which charms every person in the room , we can even observe a George Ezra with a smug smile and who after a ton of applause smiles timidly at his audience. An "I love you" from the crowd gives way to a rather shy "thank you" and many laughs. The Brit continues to tell us the story behind his album while advising us some corners of a city in Spain and how he found his inspiration for the song Pretty Shining People that he decides to interpret while inviting us to sing with him "Don't we all need love? The answer is easy": the result is not long in coming, the audience sings in chorus with an emotional George with his hand on his heart. He ends by thanking us and telling us that it was beautiful, and we agree with him.

A Trianon with the air of "paradise"

The singer continues his set with a hit known to all: Listen to the Man which allows to testify to a real complicity between all the musicians. George Ezra then tells us about his many videos on YouTube in the format of a karaoke that he had fun shooting while confessing that he was more and more drunk for each song and that it was funny. Then, he continues the concert with Saviour who gives us chills due to his powerful voice!

After a thunderous applause, George Ezra asks us if we recognize the song "Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo": the result is not surprising, everyone sees that it is Don't Matter Now ! A short moment where everyone applauds and sings in chorus with a smile on their face ! The singer then tells us an anecdote about his tour through the United States that inspired him Paradise, a song that makes the whole Trianon jump and dance. After thanking us many times, the British decides to play us Song 6 while specifying that it is a fictional title! Then it is finally the turn of the emotional Hold My Girl who will even manage to get a few tears in the audience. At the end, George Ezra timidly thanks his audience with his head, a sign of shared emotion.

Then, the singer lets out an energetic "What About Blame It On Me?" which gives way to many shouts from the audience and many unexpected whistles from the batsman who gives the air of a World Cup! In the face of so much enthusiasm, George Ezra lets out a few laughs before announcing the next song: Shot Gun. It is at the end of this title that he puts down his guitar, greets his audience and leaves the stage very quickly. The audience then launches into a frenzied encore to bring the singer and his band back on stage!

George Ezra decides after a few short minutes to make his return to the stage with his cover of Rudimental for These Days that we love. He then goes directly with Leaving It Up to You  and he then decides to close his concert with the timeless and unmissable Budapest where he explains to us all the same that this piece had nothing to do with said city. Before leaving the stage for good, the Brit hopes we had an exceptional evening and hopes to see us again soon.

Well, George Ezra we can guarantee you that we will be present on November 1st at La Cigale for your next Parisian date, and that yes we spent an excellent evening at your side where you knew how to touch us with your titles carried by your powerful voice but also all these anecdotal stories that gave them more meaning in our eyes. If we are sad to leave the Trianon because your concert is already over, you have the faculty of having made us leave it with a smug smile on our lips and saying that it was "paradise" tonight.
