If there is a date to remember for Reggae lovers, it is October 2nd. If there is a place, it is the Olympia. Why? Because the legendary ska, rocksteady and reggae band Toots and the Maytals comes to play on stage for a unique concert in Paris.
Toots and The Maytals – reggae veterans
At 74 years old, Frederick "Toots" Hibbert has lost none of his passion and it promises to be magical. Influenced from an early age by Gospel, he has since left his native Jamaica and toured the world several times to share his music and good vibes. He has collaborated with Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt and Willie Nelson.
It is with joy and pleasure that we will wait for him with his whole band on October 2nd for a beautiful friendly and sunny moment.

Did you know?
– Hibbert wrote the track 54-46 That's My Number in reference to the 18 months in prison he served in late 1966, ostensibly for possession of marijuana, when he had simply come to pay bail for a friend. This iconic title was also chosen to be the opening theme of the film This is England (a must see by the way, otherwise add it immediately to your list of films to see!)
– it was their title Do The Reggay, released in 1968, that definitely brought the word "Reggae" into the customs!
– in 2006, they collaborated on Easy Star All-Stars' Radiohead tribute album: Radiodread – with a reggae/ska version of the track Let Down listening here:
– in 2010, "Rolling Stones" magazine named Toots Hibbert one of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time
– A documentary " Toots and the Maytals Reggae Got Soul" is available on the net, trailer here !
