New week; New films on display. From the highly anticipated Incredibles directed by Brad Bird, to Tamara 2 or My Brothers, this Wednesday's cinema releases go through all genres to please young and old. To your notebooks!


The Incredibles

Animated film directed by Brad Bird, with Gérard Lanvin, Déborah Perret, Louane Emera.

Synopsis : The continuation of the adventures of the Incredibles family. While Helen (Elastic Girl) takes the lead in the "save the world" mission, Bob (Mr. Indestructible) finds himself out of his comfort zone having to chaotically manage the tasks of everyday life. 


Adrift

Drama, Romance, directed by Baltasar Kormákur, starring Shailene Woodley, Sam Claflin, Jeffrey Thomas.

Tami Oldham and Richard Sharp decide to transport a boat across the Pacific and find themselves trapped in a terrible hurricane. After the devastating passage of the storm, Tami wakes up to find their boat completely destroyed and Richard seriously injured. Adrift, with no hope of being rescued, Tami can only rely on herself to survive and save the one she loves.


Woman at War

Comedy directed by Benedikt Erlingsson, starring Halldora Geirhardsdottir, Jóhann Sigurðarson, Davíd Thór Jónsson.

Synopsis : Halla, in her fifties, declares war on the local aluminum industry that disfigures her country. It takes all risks to protect the Highlands of Iceland… But the situation could change with the unexpected arrival of a little orphan girl in his life…


My Brothers

Drama directed by Bertrand Guerry, with David Arribe, Thomas Guerry, Sacha Guerry.

Synopsis : Two brothers, Eddy and Rocco, had their moment of glory on the "Indie Rock" scene in the late 90s. Ten years later, they are found on an island, marching at the head of the local band. Sufferings have broken hearts and bruised bodies, but joy will be reborn from fraternity.

The Mona Lina file

Drama directed by Eran Riklis, starring Golshifteh Farahani, Neta Riskin, Yehuda Almagor.

Synopsis : Mona, Lebanese, is suspected by Hezbollah of being an informant for the Israeli secret services. Fearing that she would be unmasked, the Mossad exfiltrated her to Germany and made her change her face. For two weeks, while they recovered from her operation, they hid her in an apartment in Hamburg. 


Tamara Vol.2

Comedy directed by Alexandre Castagnetti, with Héloïse Martin, Rayane Bensetti, Sylvie Testud.

Tamara has been separated from Diego for two years. She finally leaves the nest to live the summer adventure in Paris with her girlfriend Sam. In the galley of apartment, they accept a roommate with Wagner. Problem: Diego is part of the lot, and he is no longer single! American Nightmare 4: The Origins

Thriller, horror-horror directed by Gerard McMurray, with Y'lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade.

Synopsis : To keep the crime rate below 1% for the rest of the year, the "New Founding Fathers" are testing a social theory that would evacuate violence overnight in an isolated city. But when the aggressiveness of tyrants meets the rage of marginalized communities, the phenomenon will spread beyond the borders of the test city until it reaches the entire nation.


One sings, the other doesn't

Dramatic comedy directed by Agnès Varda, with Thérèse Liotard, Valérie Mairesse, Robert Dadiès.

Synopsis : Two young women live in Paris in 1962. Pauline (17), a student, dreams of leaving her family to become a singer. Suzanne (22) takes care of her two children and is facing the tragedy of their father's suicide.


A Village in the Wind

Documentary directed by Jean-Louis Gonterre

Synopsis : "Film – portrait" of Burdignes, in the Loire; an agricultural and rural village not quite like the others. Around initiatives related to food, energy, housing and cultural life, residents participate in an ecological transition in action and a "better living together". With strong lyrics, grandiose landscapes, a successful musical creation, this documentary is joyfully optimistic.


Three Tales of Borges

Adventure film directed by Maxime Martinot, with Hector Spivak, Juan Pablo Miño, Frédérique Monblanc.

Synopsis : The Three Tales of Borges adapt, in their original language, three texts by the famous Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges: El otro, El disco and El libro de arena. Three fantastic stories where the objects of eternity are stored which, at hand, jeopardize our relationship to time, to image, to language.


The Four Sisters – Parts I and II

Two documentaries directed by Claude Lanzmann.

Synopsis : Paula Biren, Ruth Elias, Ada Lichtman, Hanna Marton, four names and surnames of Jewish women; Witnesses and survivors of the wildest and most ruthless barbarism, and who, for this reason alone, but many others, deserve to be forever inscribed in the memory of men.
