While Tom Holland is about to show us what he is worth in the role of the spider man, Sony has just given access on Amazon to a remounted version of the famous Spider-Man 3, released in 2007.
Let's go back 10 years and set the record straight. Sam Raimi releases his third opus on Spider-Man which unfortunately is not unanimous… The film contains "too many characters", the promotional videos show shots that will not be in the cinema version, in short a disappointment for some viewers. The film still grossed $890 million worldwide, but even Sam Raimi wasn't convinced that his film actually worked.
Sony has therefore decided to return to this feature film to offer a new montage (shorter by 2 minutes) available on Amazon. According to Screen Rant, some dialogue was removed, the apparent shots on promotions but not in the film were eventually inserted, the action scenes were edited and some alternate scenes were also added. Finally, the film keeps the same scripted line, despite these 2 minutes less. According to Screen Rant, the film would also keep some apparent flaws. So we could ask the question, is the film close to the film wanted by Sam Raimi? Do we have the "director's cut"? The article prefers to speak of an "editor's cut", and avoids quoting Sam Raimi.
This new montage would therefore be a new opportunity to see Tobey Maguire in the role of the spider man. In the meantime, Tom Holland is about to show us what he is capable of in the film with multiple reboots. See you in the dark rooms on July 12th!
