With $ 730 million at the global box office, the first part of Deadpool had marked the spirits in 2016. Back two years later, Deadpool 2 breaks the shack. Literally. Yes, Deadpool blows everything up. Even if it means fishing a little on his scenario. Warning, this review is likely to contain some spoilers!

Time travel and mutants

If there is one point on which the new part of Deadpool loses power, it is its scenario. If it is not bad, it does not play the card of originality either. The beginning of the film is confusing, but it nevertheless introduces with finesse the rest of the story, a little more predictable. Deadpool will face the bad guy Cable, who, coming from the future, will make it his mission to kill a very young mutant, Firefist. A bit like the Terminator who comes to kill Sarah Connor. To counter the villain, Deadpool will have the idea of forming a superheroic team with Avengers sauce, which will be called the X-Force. The only power of the scenario is hidden in the emotion and doubts of the characters, much more worked than in the first chapter. Deadpool and Cable are much closer than one might think.

"Who are you?" "I'm Batman" – Cable/Deadpool

The strength of this film really lies in its characters. If we regretted that some are a little less developed (including Negasonic Tennage Nuclear, excellent in the first part), other characters who made their first appearances are very successful. This is the case of Domino, who boasts of having supernatural luck. Introduced during the hilarious selection interview for the X-Force conducted by Deadpool and Weasel, the character shines by his independence, badass side and humor. Cable, the villain who, like Thanos (played by the same Josh Brolin), has a human and sensitive side, does not make us sulk our pleasure to love him. Several other appearances, such as Brad Pitt or Bill Skarsgard, will add to the humor of this film.

Deadpool

"You never forget your second time"

As is well known, Deadpool is a follower of the "fourth wall", in comics as in movies. The peculiarity of this character is that he realizes that he is a fictional character. That's why he often speaks directly to the viewer during feature films. And director David Leitch plays a lot in the second part. Reference to Wolverine, Green Lantern, Celine Dion (whose song of the film is to be found here), Star Wars, Ryan Reynolds, Thanos and so on … For a result (again) of the most hilarious, but also more subtle than in the first part. Notice to fans of comics, but also to the non-connoisseur public: you will love it!

Deadpool 2 is a concentrate of anything mastered: Blood, humor (sometimes very salacious, sensitive souls abstain), love and action. Even if we regret a little the lack of originality in the scenario, Deadpool 2 will undoubtedly be a success at the height of the first. Run quickly to see it!
