The book La consolation, written by Flavie Flament, will be adapted into a TV movie by France 3.

Published in October 2016 by JC Lattès, La consolation is an autobiographical book written by Flavie Flament. The release of the book was marked because of the breach of silence by the author on the assault of which she was a victim. Radio and television host, Flavie Flament recounts in this book her adolescence, her relationship with an abusive mother and the rape she suffered at the hands of a famous photographer whose name she had decided to withhold. Accused of lying or even madness by her entourage and many media, the author was however heard by Laurence Rossignol, former Minister of Families, Children and Women's Rights, who entrusted her with the co-chairmanship of a mission reflecting on the advisability of extending the statute of limitations for sexual crimes committed against minors, mission that delivered its report last April.

Sensitized to the legal and media treatment of the testimonies of rape victims (the latter being regularly denied or even defamed because of shock or post-traumatic amnesia), the channel France 3 had broadcast on September 20 the TV movie Le viol, which recounts the trial that made rape a crime and no longer a simple offense, followed by a documentary. We can only welcome this visibility brought to the public debate. Director Magaly Richard-Serrano (La fine équipe) is the one who will adapt The Consolation into a TV movie for France 3. The role of Flavie Flament as a child goes to Lou Gable, while that of adult Flavie Flament will be played by Emilie Dequenne (Au-revoir là-haut). Flavie Flament's mother will be played by Léa Drucker (Great Minds) and the photographer by Philip Schurer (Black Venus).

No release date is currently planned, the film is currently shooting in Charente-Maritime.
