Japan Expo 2018: the French authors of Glénat at the rendezvous!

Nothing stops French manga, and it is not Glénat who will tell you the opposite! On the occasion of Japan Expo 2018, you can also meet several of its successful French mangaka… around a round table!

An event not to be missed

On Thursday, July 5, the first day of the Japan Expo, Glénat will bring together several of its French authors for a round table. The program? Five writers and cartoonists will share with you their experiences, their journeys and their projects as a mangaka!

Antoine Dole and Vinhnyu, respectively scriptwriter and illustrator of the brand new nugget of Glénat, 4LIFE, Aienkei and Enaibi, writer and illustrator of Horion and finally Christophe Cointault, mangaka of Tinta Run, will be present at the event.  

See you on the Kuri stage, between 12:45 and 13:30!

Who are the guests of Japan expo 2018? 

Antoine DOLE

Its reputation is well established! Author of comics (Mortelle Adèle, Skaker Monster) and novels (K-cendres, A copier 100 fois, Laisse brûler), sometimes published under the pseudonym of Mr Tan, it is accompanied by the cartoonist Vinhnyu that he will come to the Japan Expo. They will present their joint work, 4LIFE, the first volume of which will be published at the beginning of July!

With the last Ki-oon springboard, published in Shueisha's Jump+, the 4LIFE cartoonist is already a big name in French manga!

Synopsis of 4Life:

While they were sitting quietly on the bus to a cosplay contest, four friends are victims of a car accident. When they wake up in the hospital, nothing is the same; They develop powers related to the outfits they were wearing at the time of the accident.

When the girls begin to discover the extent of their new abilities, mysterious creatures invade the city and seem to be attracted to the teenage girls and their costumes. The latter must then organize themselves to face two major threats: the shadows that stalk them and swallow the city, but also their costumes that seem to gradually take possession of them. Now, the four friends must fight together to understand the origin of this transformation and not to disappear.


Aienkei

Screenwriter of Horion, whose first volume was published by Glénat in May 2018, Aienkei will, alongside his cartoonist Enaibi, share with you his experience of a lover of Japanese animation who became a mangaka himself!

Aienkei's companion on the work Horion, Enaibi wears several hats! Already known on the net for her sculptures, employed by a major animation studio, graduated with a master's degree in Japanese language… and talented cartoonist who will undoubtedly convince you as a mangaka!

Already known for her manga Stray Doh, Ayakashi or RED/NeverenD, the mangaka published in France by Glénat will be signing several times at the stand of Tegami Den and Glénat.You can discover his steampunk works populated by fantastic creatures, evolving in a gothic and romantic universe.
