It's been two months since the end of the broadcast of Dragon Ball Super on the Japanese channel Fuji TV was announced. Fans of Akira Toriyama's famous franchise had resigned themselves to waiting until the end of the year to see Goku and his friends again in the next film about the origins of the Saiyans. But Toei Animation obviously has other plans to export a little more (does it really need it?) The fantastic world of our favorite warriors!
Dragon Ball being the manga / anime that it is, the number of fans is incalculable, like big licenses such as Star Wars. The arrival of a new anime has something to play but what about an anime openly in fan service?
So what is Dragon Ball Heroes?
Dragon Ball Heroes is an arcade game created in 2010, in Japan. Mixing trading cards and turn-based fighting games in 5vs5, fans of the franchise wanted their favorite heroes to fight in different missions. (without worrying about any connection/coherence with the original work) So we end up with fights such as Goku SSJ4 (Super Saiyan 4) vs. Goku SSJBleu! (the poster sells dreams for fans of power debates) Clearly, all the characters of the different expansions of the DB World are present and even more! We even end up with Xeno versions of King Vegeta, Broly in SSJ4, other versions of Dabra or Cooler…
This new burst of episodes will therefore have no connection with the canon ("really part of the chronology") of the original series. These are stamped Dragon Ball Heroes.
A very specific bow…
The anime is expected to cover the "Prison Planet" arc (currently underway in Japan). Here's the synopsis of the first episode, released in this month's V-Jump:
Super Saiyan 4 Goku vs Super Saiyan Blue Goku?!
A transcendent battle takes place on the Prison Planet, a place unknown to all!
Trunks arrives from the future once again to train with Goku and Vegeta. However, Trunks suddenly disappears. Then a mysterious character named Fu appears and tells them that Trunks is a prisoner in a place between universes, called the Prison Planet, that no one seems to know. To escape, they must gather the Dragon Balls and fight in multiple fights!!
Will Goku and the others be able to rescue Trunks and escape from the Prison Planet!?
As said before, this story arc is currently underway in Japan. Because DB Heroes had for him to present certain characters or events shortly before the official broadcast! Moreover, Merged Zamasu had been featured in DB Heroes before his appearance in Dragon Ball Super. It is therefore with a trained eye that fans will watch the anime to find a clue about the future of the license.

By searching the official website of the anime, we can read the synopsis of the game Super Dragon Ball Heroes, concerning the Planet Prison arc:
A new series "Universe Mission" arrives in March 2018. In this original Prison Planet arc, Trunks is stuck on the Prison Planet. Goku, Vegeta, Fu and a mysterious evil Saiyan, who claims to possess overwhelming power, challenge each other for the Dragon Balls in a fierce fight on the Prison Planet.

It is true that one could ask the question of whether this anime makes sense or not. But the Japanese public really appreciates the fan service and DB Heroes can boast 1.8 million players! In addition to bringing in about 5 billion yen per year since 2011! Even so, this anime could serve as promotional material for the rest of the world. Thus helping the Western public to accept the "non-canon" side of the work. Whatever happens, JustFocus will inform you soon of new news about the anime!
The series will start on July 1, 2018 in Japan! With a special broadcast for the first episode in the Aeon Lake Town Mall!
