What would you say in this autumn season to escape? Just for a moment…Let yourself be peddled by the colorful and atypical universe of the famous painter Henri Matisse. Then head to the Centre Pompidou, in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. You can only be dazzled and fascinated by the richness of the museum's works. Indeed, paintings, sculptures, press articles and magazines will take you through the history of Matissia. On the occasion of the artist's 150th birthday, Beaubourg welcomes you in an exhibition divided into nine distinct chronological chapters like a novel. Mixing literature and paintings, 230 works by the artist and unpublished documents are exhibited from October 21, 2020 to February 22, 2021.

The unpublished works have travelled to the Centre Pompidou just for you. Indeed, the loans of paintings come from the museum of Cateau-Cambrésis to the museum of Grenoble and even Nice. But then who is Matisse? This painter destined for law studies, became interested in painting very late, but how did he become a rising figure of painting? The talented Matisse is the precursor of Fauvism. It should be noted that this artistic style is a French pictorial movement, characterized by the simplification of forms and the use of pure and bright colors. This movement appeared in the early twentieth century in France. The exhibition traces the career of this incredible artist. The museum offers a real journey through time piece by piece. Matisse's travels, at the center of his works
This artist confronts landscapes but also details, accessories with his famous oriental carpets with decorative motifs. This true original, will make you discover Corsica and its colors, then Algeria to Tahiti. Henri Matisse, boldly explores the association of motifs from other cultures.
