Soy de Cuba: Viva La Vida! at the Casino de Paris

After triumphing at the Palais des Sports and La Cigale, the Cuban troupe Soy de Cuba returns to the Casino de Paris, from June 3 to 30 with its new dance show: "Viva la Vida! ". One of the first large-scale shows to be performed in the capital when theaters reopen to the public. A show that should have originally been performed in April 2020 but has been postponed several times due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

But this time, it's the right one. "Viva la Vida! " started at 7pm on June 8, 2021 to respect the curfew in force. Led by 14 Cuban dancers and a live orchestra composed of six musicians and two singers, Soy de Cuba is back in Parisian venues.

A show in the colors of Havana

This show is a breath of fresh air after this long and painful confinement without being able to access culture. Unsurprisingly, the show kept its promises. It is both intoxicating, catchy, intense and emotionally charged. The troupe as well as the artistic direction and the staging ( by Julie DAYAN and Michaël XERRI) managed to make us travel to the famous country of cigars and Panama. The change of scenery is total, they offer us a panorama of Cuban music, an inexhaustible source continuing to cross minds and hearts. Cuban dances are of endless variety. Salsa is a mix of rhythmic styles and musical forms including, among others in this show, rumba, mambo, cha-cha-cha, reggaeton and other Afro-Cuban jazz tempos. Synopsis : She has a passion for dance. He is a professional boxer. They don't have much in common except Cuban culture and the desire to go further. A love story taking us behind the scenes of the boxing gyms of Havana, in the dark streets of the mythical city, or in a cigar factory!
